Well my dear canadian brothers, my fundas are very clear. I have applied for canadian immigration because I want to see the place and then decide for myself where to live. But for sure if I choose canada I am very sure I would not be a person living there and discourging new comers to canada.
I am not frustrated with my immigration process i am just trying keep a track of present state of affairs regarding canadian immigration.
Yes , I have no doubt about my present life. I am living a very happy life here in india and i also know I would be happy in future also because
happiness is not external; its a internal thing. If you think my eagerness for canada is my frustration i strongly disagree with you.

Preet i think you are totally right that one can live in happiness anyhwere if he is determined.

Anyways I dont hope to have a bad response from Embassy but since its
fully of files so the process has slowed up.

My relative had filed in 2001 but still waiting for interview call.

But can you tell me that appx. how much time they take for First Review . I got file no. in Nov 2003 thereafter no letter.

Dear Preet74,
Please be sure that no one is trying to discourage you from coming to canada. What we are doing is trying to present the actual state of affairs here. In the past many new immigrants have come here with a rosy future in mind but most of them ended up bitterly disappointed when faced with reality. Our only sincere advice to you is that there is nothing wrong in coming to canada for a better future but just keep your options of going back to India open(just in case).
One last thing - when you will actually land here you will be amazed by the selfless help provided by this site's members in helping you settle down .

Good luck....

Google for it - there are various web sites out there giving detailed timelines for immigration to Canada. That should give you some idea of the current timelines at New Delhi.

There is no time line or rule followed by CHC, I had applied Oct 2001 under independent skill worker catagory without any sponsorship letter and have been in Canada for long....but your relative applied in 2001 too has not recieved interview. I am sure there are lot of 2001 applicant already immigrated to Canada. You will not be able to guess from other people time line that how long or short will be your waiting period.

Preet,

Two things.........

First, my post was one which was humour mixed with fact - this is something which is happening and I hear this in both business and social meetings when I meet some very respected and highly placed individuals in the society and businesses. I am not trying to discourage intending immigrants for any personal benefit - I am simply trying to state what people here have started thinking now. Infact, some of my friends/aquaintances placed in great jobs (earning more than 250k) or having their own businesses have started putting their children in Mandarin courses because they feel that by the time they come out of university, they might find it better to work in China than in Canada.

Secondly, if you first want to find out about Canada and then decide where to live, why have you already taken the step of applying for migration? In the money that you have put in to do that, you could have easily bought yourself a holiday to Canada which would have given you a first hand information (though a bit skewed, since you would be a visitor, not a resident deserperately wanting to settle down soon) to help you take that 'educated and informed' decision.

And if you are happy in India - why do you want to take the risk of disturbing that?

Chandresh

Dear Chandresh,

Life does not gives same platform and oppurtunities to all.
Tourist visas to canada are given to a very few people.
I am living happily , I tried for tourist visa in 1999 but the
visa officer was not satisfied and i was not granted visa.
I applied for immigration allmost 5 years later just aise he.

For me getting immigration to canada is getting a status of
world citizen. I think this world is going to be a global village.
You should be willing to move to any part of world where you see
a oppurtunity.

Yes, India and China are becoming very strong economies. Tommorow
If i see India becoming better , why cant we come back?
I think that one should move with the time.

Being happy does not mean not to try new things in life.
I am happy in my homeland and i still want to see more of this world.

Chandresh Ji, You seem to be senior to me I apologize if you
have been offended by my posts. This site is a excelent potrayal
of canada for people coming to canada. A BIG THANKS TO Every
Desi in canada associated with this site.

We (here in india) are proud of you ( desi brothers in canada)
and its just because of you people we have the courage to
think of leaving our homeland and come to a new land.
Hats off to all canadian desis.
