Is there an online transit route/ trip planner on any of the transit companies websites? I am asking because I have not seen any for the various transit companies operating in the GTA.
To illustrate, one could give the details on an online form and the web gives you the exact distances/ bus or subway routes/ connecting buses or subways/ connecting times and walking distance if any.
All one needs to input is:
1 - Origin address
2 - Destination address
3 - Date and time of travel using the transit
One has something like this for the Montreal transit system and it works just great.
Thanks.

I have not seen any website for trip planning in GTA. You can call the call centers of various transit systems and find out the route.
You can also look up the map of transit systems and you will be able to find out the routes. TTC's map covers parts of Brampton and Mississauga too.

If you use a PDA, you can have the "Metro" software downloaded to your device.

Has trip planners for 50 odd cities around the world, one of which is Toronto. Only the TTC subway and Scarborough RT are covered though, buses are not covered.
Hope this helps.

The GTA transit routes and maps are great, but then they cannot get you to route plan a trip (I mean try various options of days, time, least number of change-overs, etc). I was thinking that since the transit has such a good presence on the web why not have something like this, which is already in place in Canada.
Well, you could check this out to get a more clear picture of what I am talking about (http://www.stm.info/English/azimuts/a-index.htm click on the Start "Tous azimuts" link to get started).
Thanks for your replies.
