In US you require minimum bachelors degree to be a teacher. In US all bachelors degree irrespective of field take 4 yrs as opposed to 3 ys in India. So if your Indian BSC is 3 yrs duration there is no way it can be recognised as 100 % equivalent to a us degree unless you have Masters or additional education. That is what I am sayoing.
Do you have official letter from a US State board of education accepting your BSC as equal to a US degree and allowing teacher certification.
Anyway thia is my last posting on this issue. As Blue Lobster maintained I think this is an imp thread and I dont want to be bogged by irrelevant stuff.
Thanks

The cold weather or snowstorms aren't going to stop us from coming in March! (There is a snowstorm here as I write!)

Hi,
I want to direct my questions below to a very specific group of CD's. The reson I want to focus a narrow group is because I feel this group has specific experiences that would help immigrants from US most.
Please answer the questions below if you meet this criteria
1) Worked in The US for at least 4 yrs (2-3 yrs if you studied in a US university).
Lived in US for 10 yrs, in Canada for 5 yrs.
2) Was on H1B or L1 etc or already have USGC
F1, H1B
3) Earned at least $ 40 K annually while in the US.
Started at 30k finished at 90k
4) Currently live and work in Canada (not just landed and coming back).
Yes, first in Ottawa, now in Toronto
Can you please share your experience on the following.
1) Things you miss most about USA
My BMW! Business and people - smart, strategic, aggressive, risktakers and determined; Niceness. Friendly.
2) Things you hated most in USA as compared to Canada
Inability to do things I wanted to do because of visa status
3) Things you love about Canada
Freedom to do whatever I want to do professionally
4) Things you hate about Canada
Stupid people. Conservative businesses. Pretend to be multiculterism but experienced more racism in Canada than in US. Cold Weather. Income. Protectionism.
5) Do you regret leaving USA and moving to Canada
Yes
6) Did you move out of choice or necessity (ie you couldnt get US GC etc)
necessity
7) Would you move back without any hesitationif you had an option to move back to US on a work visa ?
Depend on opportunity
8)Do you feel you are in a different country than USA
Yes, feels like India w/o smoke, dust and pollution. Would have preferred India if not for smoke, dust and pollution and 'babugiri'
9) How does your spouse/children if applicable like it in Canada as compared to US ?
Prefer Canada than US
10) Do you feel your life has more stability as Canadian Citizen/PR than on H1 B.
Yes
11) If you were put in a very cold state of USA (Minnesota /Michigan etc) as oppossed to Texas/Florida/California would you still prefer USA.
Anywhere but Northeast US. Prefer Midwest and South.
I know these are a lot of questions but it would really help in gauging the opinion of migrants from USA.
Thanks
