You can do a post-graduate diploma in your area of interest from a college (NOT the same as a University). Post graduate diploma's are of one year duration and colleges accept a three year degree, after you're done with the PG Diploma you can apply for Masters in Geology or whatever you choose. Some colleges also have credit transfer arrangement with Universities. By the way, what's the poll about?

University of Calgary and University of alberta (Edmonton) are the best for Geology. Contact them for details.

As an immigrant to Canada, you will need to make sure that Canadian end-users are giving appropriate recognition to your international academic credentials. To accomplish this you will need to evaluate your international academic credentials for five separate end-users: employers, educational institutions, licensing bodies and professional associations, apprenticeship training programs and Canadian Visa Posts overseas.

Hey, you know what you can do, you could apply for credit transfer and get an under grad degree here in Canada. Get in touch with the international admissions dept and ask for more information. You can skip 2-3 years depending on the courses you have taken in India.

I m in the same boat. I have a 3 yrs Bachelors in Computer Science degree from India and hve been working in IT field here in Canada for the last 4 yrs. I have a 6 months full time Post Gradute Diploma from CDAC Pune and a 1 yr p/t IBM AS400 certification from Seneca College. If I add the 3 yr degree + 6 months PG diploma + 1yr p/t(divide it by 2 so you can count it as 6 months full time course) = 4yrs of education. But it does not work that way here.

The problem is, most of the Universities in and around Toronto(and probably most of them in Canada) requires a 4 Yrs Bachelors degree. It sucks as I know my classmates who went to good universities in Australia, UK, France and US, did their Masters in computers or MBA and only had a 3yr bachelors degree.

I am pretty sure that a LARGE no of BSc, BCom, BA, BCA, BBA students coming from India with a 3 yrs bachelors degree are in a limbo. They have a bachelors degree but it doesn't count :(

Does anyone have a solution to this issue? How about doing a masters from a distance education university that accepts students with 3yr degree and then go for a good MBA school? Is there any university that wud give admission directly to 4th yr Bachelors course so that u just do 1 yr and get a 4yr degree??

Your input and suggestions are welcome as I am sure it will help a lot people who are in a similar situation like me.
