My spouse is going to apply for canadian immigration in the skilled worker class. I had Tuberculosis a few years ago it has been fully treated but it has been known to resurface in some patients. Do you think that will affect our chances? How about the interview. Will i fail the medical altogether?
should my spouse apply by herself and i follow later?

It will not affect your application. After you will send your medical, they will get your x-ray checked by their panel of doctors and if you have any spot on your lungs clearly visible, they mightl ask you to do a sputam test. This test might take some time (about two months) so overall your application will get delayed by 4 months or so.

When you come to Canada, you have to report to doctors for checking again and any treatment requirements and thats it.

So there is nothing to worry about.

They just want to make sure that none of the person from world with active TB enters in Canada. We are TB free country!!

Yes, Garvo is exactly correct and it happened to me as I was a regular smoker, the doctor found some spot in the lungs and suggested for a sputum test without advising by CHC. By this, I have saved around 1 month as the sputum test results comes after 3 to 4 weeks. By the time I got the advise from CHC to go for sputum test, the test results are ready.(Ofcourse , NO TB)
