Hi friends,

Life is cool!!!

We are off to Florida in August. Driving from TO to NY and flying from NY to FL. I am thinking to add a city, which we have never explored before and that's Washington nearest to NY/NJ.

Since we will be there for 2/3 days ONLY, I need some pointers such as MUST in the list to see, Desi Restaurants and accommodation (a proven review will be a great advantage).

Regards,

VJ.

Honestly, did not want to discourage you because you planned for it. I used to live in Maryland area. We are not museum and history type of people especially when travelling with kids. Kids would read a description about few items created back in 14th century and soon would loose the interest. With so much of restrictions and security and traffic issues DC is the area we avoided and preferred to hit the beach in ocean city, MD, Rehoboth beach, Delaware and beaches in NC. Because kids enjoyed it and we had relaxed time as well. Lincoln memorial, white house, senate, war memorial, museums, laffayette park etc. can be seen. Lot of downtown Indian restaurants. I preferred the ones in MD but none of them have the authentic taste of GTA Indian restaurants. You would find Brar Etobicoke the best restaurant in the world...
I am trying to remember but there is a route which takes you straight to downtown DC to see most of the attractions, if you take a wrong turn then you are into a very dangerous neighbourhood even during day time. So avoid that.
Enjoy your trip and have fun!
