So Desibabu70,

whats point here? you see the upcoming winner of election should vanish entire public sector and privatization of each sector? do you think its possible?

also parent immigration is just an example. Right now I am dealing with Federal Skilled Worker class 1 & 2 petition, in which it is frustrating to see January 2011 applicant got PR visa and landed with family before end of summer, while January 2004/2005/2006 applicants under same category still waiting.

there must be a reason for the delay.
processing time depends on many factors.
the port of application, the strength of the case, background checks etc.
also if i remember correctly there was something weird about the cases from 2003 - 2004 because of the change in rules.
many applicants that qualified under the old rules did not qualify under the new rules.
CIC gave them the option of withdrawing their applications and re-applying to speed up the process, or continuing under the old rules.
the exact details escape me right now, I am getting old, but i am sure there is something unique about the 2004 cases.

in any case, I fail to see what that has to do with these ontario elections.
surely, the federal immigration cases from 2004 are not the fault of any of these candidates.
I am sure none of these candidates can influence this one way or another.

no not complete privatization of course
but public sector is getting out of control.
it is sucking more and more out of the system.
we have to limit public sector costs substantially.

see what is happening to CPP...government keep increasing the age for taking CPP by increasing the early penalties.
soon it will be the rule that you cannot take CPP before age 90, when 90% of us are dead.

do you realize what the national cost is for maintaining the richness of the public sector?
I have nothing against the size of public sector (although that is also a problem), but more with the cost of public sector.

why should the public sector employees get 70% of their highest salary as life long pension when the very people that fund that pension through taxes don't get even 1% of their earnings as pension?
why can't they get regular CPP as the rest of the people?
what is so great and unique about them?

why should the public sector get 5% to 8% salary increases every year during such times when most workers in the private sector are losing jobs, having pay freezes and pay cuts?

why should the ontario sunshine list grow by over 200% in less than 8 years, esp. when 3 out of those 8 years have been the worst recession in 50 years?

the milking of the system that is happening here is scandalous.

why do you think our taxes are going up like this?
this is particularly bad under the liberals, and I can't even imagine what it will be like under the NDP.
going by what happened last time ontarians made the mistake of voting NDP - Bob Rae's govt. - it will be a nightmare.
surely you remember those days.

the liberals are simply a tax and spend group.
they pander to specific vote groups such as unions, public sector and immigrants and then enrich themselves by taxing us until our backs break.

the only reason we haven't become like Greece is because Canadians don't mind paying taxes.
we simply bend over and let the govt. have their way with us.
we keep getting screwed from left right and center.
just think of how many different ways we pay taxes.
where do you think all that money is going?

look at the US...the govt. tries to raise even 1% tax and see what is happening.
whereas here the govt. raises taxes by 8% and we happily pay up.
At least BC managed to revoke that.

see in Greece govt. tried to raise taxes and people said they simply won't pay.
people are now refusing to pay even the basic taxes.

whereas in ontario we just let them screw us left right and center.

think about it.

Correct me if I am wrong but, CPP and pensions are Federal issues and not provincial!

i am more than happy to correct you : pensions for ontario public sector workers are a provincial matter.
the federal govt. has no say in how much ontario decides to pay its workers.
the negotiations and deals made with teachers, health care, police services and other unions are also provincial matters.
deals made by respective towns and municipalities with large unions such as TTC is also a provincial matter because the cities upload a lot of those costs to the provinces.

CPP is a federal matter yes but it is the same across the country except Quebec.

IMHO there is not much of a choice but to choose a lesser evil. Don't worry whoever you vote for and does not get elected you can always be happy that at least your lesser evil is not coming back to haunt you. You will be screwed anyway so just decide who you think pyar se lega.
