Hi friends,
All the pain killers prescribed for my wife is not helping her in her pain, her condition is getting worse every day, she is practically immobile to take her any where. she is advised Prednisol steroid drug for immediate pain relief , by Dr friend in US I am looking for Dr who can prescribe for my wife prednisol steroid tablets for her pain relief, my family Dr would not do that for me , Epidural injection is already ordered by the specialist but as the emerge could not organise it on the day my wife was in the hospital , he can only do so on the 31st of Jan, her surgery for spine is scheduled on 10th of feb, any help or suggestions welcome.

I am not sure what anyone can do except for doctors. T.K. is right free medical in this country sucks. prednisolon is a steriod which my aunt and her kids used to take in India for asthama, may be u should ask some one to mail one or two strips of it each time.
I cannot imagaine Doctors giving date of surgey 30 days away.. and that too without any recourse...
I would say talk to the specialist and see if they can prescribe it. Did you try to find out why family doctor is refusing to prescribe it? Is it because of side effects or it is not indicated or it is because she is under the care of specialist who will be better suited to prescribe it?
You can try to get it from India but you will need to a get a prescription that has to be attached to the medications as Canada customs may not allow a prescription medication to be imported in Canada without a prescription. Administering the medication will be at your own risk if doctors here are not convinced that is indicated for her. If she is on other medications, please understand that several drugs can interact with each other. You should also let the treating physicians know what medications she is on that is not on their records.
