I know the rule of using A or An. A is followed by a noun starting with consonant, (A cat) An is followed by a noun starting with vowel (An eel). But I do not know the rule about what to use with an acronym?
A MBA graduate or An MBA graduate?
A SMS or An SMS?

Doesn't MS Word correct the grammer?

Most of the Universities say 'AN' MBA and hence any acronym that starts with an 'N' or an 'M' it will be wise to use "AN" instead of just 'a'.
So also for 'SMS' You can use "AN".
But currently, if there are doubts in anyone's postings, you can always go back and see of it is a keying in error or just plain omission and fill in or delete as the case may be to make some sense out of the posting.
For a Resume, it would pay to use the proper 'article' preceeding such acronyms.
On many an occasion my mind moves faster than the key strokes. So, I just get used to trying this substitution method, rather than writing back with a correction.
Freddie.
If say I am writiong a letter and I type at the speed of Toofan Mail and I finf that I hasave dispatched the letter pressing send button and I have no means of correcting it, then the lwetter will have all kindsd of spelling mistkes and some evn missing a letter in it. I trry not to do it by using the spell check. And whn I do recieive such a letter, I try and find tyhe meaning of the sentence either by omiting a few letters or sivbstituting the ones tht went Mssng.
Hope this explains the system. And hope you got the gist odo fit.
Freddie.
Please add or subtract the missing alphbets to make some sense out of this response.
