Would appreciate if anyone could shed light on the Agawa Canyon Train Tour(personal experiences) at Sault Ste. Marie. Can we reach the place without crossing the US border at Michigan -(planning to go via Espanola).
The train tour is very nice. I am afraid, it might too late for fall colors since labor day tends to be the peak for the colors.
There are different tours including the winter snow train. We took the one day tour to the Agawa Canyon park and back. The train leaves around 8 and is back by 5 ish.
Breakfast is available for a price in the breakfast car while the train is running. Your coach number will be announced and you can go to the breakfast. Lunch is available at the park. They bring out the food from the train and serve it, again for a not so cheap price. If you a veggie, there might be a problem. But we enjoyed their hot chili and hot dogs.
The station and the tour is on the Canadian side, so it is possible to drive to Sault without having to enter MI. We live in Windsor, hence it was closer and faster to drive straight north via MI.

Your info was very useful. Thank you. Postponed the trip for next fall as I was not lucky with the accomodation as well. Wanted to cover Espanola & Manitoulin Islands this fall on a 5 day road trip- I guess have to take them separately as their foliage do not match.
