Hi Guys!

I'm getting a call from Geo holidays that they are giving a holiday package for 2ngts/3days in Las Vegas or Orlando with return airtickets. All they want is me to attend a 1 nd half hr presentation with my hubby.

I know that no one will give a GIFT as such without any intention. They will try to sell us some sort of holiday -membership (time-share thing)....which ofcourse i m not interested in.But they r promising that even if u r not interested u still get ur GIFT nd u don't hav to pay anything....

I'm sure they must be calling lot of people....has anyone attended dis?If yes pl. share if they r really giving this GIFT!!!

And if you are not interested ... rest assured that Gift will not be Holiday Package to Las vagas or Orlando (not that you'll get it in case you register)

They would want you to attend their seminar with your hubby AND your VISA, MC or AMEX card in your purse.:nono:

I will say that please STAY AWAY from them. They were calling me every other week (and still do) and in order to check them I decided to attend one of their presentation last year knowing fully well that I would withhold any sales pressure and I would say that it is a 'waste of time' to go there and attend the presentation.

If you go to presentation, they will use all types of selling tactics and put so much pressure on you to buy the 'time sharing resort' that either you end up buying some thing or may not feel comfortable and would like to run from there.

In any case, if you do not buy, they will still give you this 'so called' gift certificate which you would not like to use because when you contact the number of the gift certificate they will ask you to send government taxes amount on the flight and hotel to them first and only then they will be sending your tickets which to me is an obvious sign of a 'scam' and you will not and should not use that certificate.

So technically, they did give you a gift certificate but because of the obvious condition attached you would not use the same. So, in the end it would be all 'waste of your time'.

Is it the first time you heard about it? I used to receive these calls when I was in Delhi, India few years ago. Since, I knew about it, I never gave a damn and politely say, "Sorry, I am not interested. Please don't call me ever again."

It is a scam. I speak from personal experience.

Years ago (8-9 years), when I was new to Toronto, I received a similar call. Free all-inclusive vacation to Miami for two. I went to a place close to the airport that they mentioned and I was taken aback by the number of people in the hall at the facility.

As soon as I entered, I was assigned a rep who introduced himself and then we were all led like a flock of sheep into this room where they aired a documentary on vacation properties you can buy.

Soon after, we were ushered into another big hall where the rep assigned to you sits with you at a table and basically tries to sell you this Time Share concept and gives you examples of how people have made a lot of money. At the point I was ready to leave. But the rep would not. He called his manager who tried to persuade me further to the point that I had to almost force my way out. After all this, I couldn't give a two cents about their vacation crap which by the way is not what they promised you but some kind of a lottery draw.

Bottom-line, I reiterate - IT IS A SCAM.

I have also attended. They give u a free snack and u have to go with your spouse. But it is true they offer u a free ticket and accomodation. The flight is from Buffalo and there are many days on which u cannot travel. They pressure u a lot to buy. We just sat thru it and then walked out with the free package which we gifted to someone else.
