Is there an option to obtain LIVING certificate here in Toronto which can be submitted in India(requirement once a year for pension holders).

No fee is charged for that.

Issued on the same day.

Fill it up & sign it and take your passport & ID's and go there.

Or the person who needs it should go there personally with the above.

The CGI also arrange camps in GTA areas (Brampton, Oakville etc) in the first week of November where they come to any local school over the weekend and provide the life certificates to anyone who shows up with Indian Passport. It is in addition to what MITRON has provided you the above information.

Nope. Unless its a very urgent issue & very genuine emergency, they won't entertain anyone on a Saturday.

Take your mom or dad there on a weekday, drop them off there & show them how to come back by public transit & you can go to work from there. Or pick them up later on your way back.

More often than not there will be a lineup there from at least 7.30 AM, so if you go there first you will be the first in line. They usually have a TOKEN system. Maybe things are faster now & lineup & agents & touts are no longer entertained.

Fill the form accurately, take original ID's, Passport, Canadian VISA etc with you of your parents & if photocopies are required take that also with you.

Take some food & drinks with you, while you are standing in line. Call them and ask them if there is a lineup or not. I have heard things have improved at CGI, since almost everything is outsourced to BLS , so CGI hardly does anything now.

So lineup in BLS Toronto, Brampton etc is probably bigger than at CGI Toronto.

Submission might be on 1 day in the morning and collection might be in the afternoon on the same day or a different day. Very rarely they just stamp/attest something and give it back over the counter immediately, even if its 2 minutes work.

So be prepared to wait till afternoon to collect the submitted documents or come some other day in the afternoon to collect the submitted documents. :cuss:

The Consulate does not accept any applications directly, except for Emergency Visa, Emergency Passport (Tatkaal), and Attestations. These services are available at the Consulate as per following timings :

Submission/Queries: 9:30 am to 12:30 noon (Monday to Friday)
Collection: Morning/Evening (as informed at the time of submission).

The Consulate opens every Saturday from 1000 hrs to 1330 hrs to render GENUINE Emergency Consular Services

Please note that no submission/queries will be entertained beyond timings mentioned above
