I have some small bathroom remodelling project ideas for my townhome and I am still in the budgeting/planning phase. With that in mind, I was browsing for general contractors to get some quotes/estimates when I came across this site:
http://www.handycanadian.com
You can post your project for free and contractors place "bids". I posted my project last night and there are 8 bids already which is good I guess so I can contact each one and get free estimates and plan accordingly.
Besides all that, I wanted to know if any of you had used the above website. Either way, can you vouch for or recommend a contractor you may have used in the past with satisfactory results?
Thanks in advance.
There are a list of contractor recommendations on Homestars.ca
Tip:
If you figure out the different phases and figure out what exactly is required for each phase....you may save a lot of $.
I recently did my bathroom project and cut costs by half over what the lowest of 5 contracters who quoted me for the project(all inclusive).
e.g: Demolition, plumbing, gyprock, ceramic, painting etc are different phases. If you get quotes for each phase...you may save$ . ...especially if you do some easy phases like demolition and gyprock/painting yourself.
On the flip side...it may take longer.
You can e-mail me if you want details.
p.s: I've sent you a pm earlier.
