No, it is no longer valid. Switz became a Schengen state, hence follows the rules of the Schengen. Hence, a Cdn PR with a nationality that requires Schengen visa would require the same for Switz as well.

If I understand your question correctly, the answer is No - you do need a visa to go to the US as a Permanent Resident.
And if your stated location is correct (Hyd. India), you should apply for US visa in India and not in Canada, even if you are a PR visa holder.
