You donot know much about Canada also.
Illegals do most of the housing construction projects in Canada esp. in the GTA.
Their percentage must be more than the percentage in USA ( not numbers). Italians are the employers for housing in the GTA. Illegals are paid almost equal to their cdn. counterparts and no one works in the housing industry for a pittance. For illegals there is no EI nor CPP nor taxes. The govt. turns a blind eye to it as there are no PR's or Citizens willing to do this labourious work. Also in Canada, there is no strict law nor enforcenment for illegal construction workers.

TK what countries do these illegals working in Canada construction business come from ?
How do they get to Canada - Tourist Visa ?
I would think if Illegals get paid same wage as Canadian PR or Citizen then the building costs must be high. In US Illegal mexican laborer in place like Houston or Dallas TX gets $ 6-$8 per hr so construction cost is low.

Illegals are from Europe (mostly eastern), Carribean and from latin america.
Some illegals from non visa needed countries (like the Carribean,Portugul etc..)) come as visitors and then stay back. i am not sure as to how the others come here. I have heard of individual cases in which latino's from latin america get invitation letters from their girl friends, relatives to come to Canada, get visitor's visa and then never return to the country of their birth.
No one in the housing constrution works for less than $15 an hour and they do hard laborious work. Maybe that is why the cost of houses is very high.
Desi land has the best craftsman in the whole world esp. people from Rajasthan. Canada's houses would be better build if only Desi's could come to Canada illegally and work here in the housing industry.

You wish to start a thread on the cost/prices of houses in Canada. Did you notice where the discussion is going. You are one among the people who are side tracking the discussion. This is the generel trend that i have noticed in almost all the threads/discussions on the CD. There is heardly any positive out come from most of the discussions.
It is amazing that the requests on shaving cream, razor blades, hair removing creams etc. attract 3-4 pages of responses. Responses on personal grievances runs into many pages. Many of the important topics endup with personal abuses, squabbles acrimony etc. Above all we have moderators who wish to see the members discussing only those issues what they please to. Else face the ban.
