So we all agree that the key to success is proper planning. The next question that arises is that is HRDC the best agency which can be contacted by the newcomers? Does being patient help? I mean does HRDC, sooner or later put you on the track? (In India we have an employment exchange run by the government, but I have hardly seen anyone being called for and interview for years!)
If yes, then what is the best time to contact them. ? And what are the formalities that one has to go through?

For jobs in Engineering Consulting companies, Calgary is good place. If any one has plant side maintenance experience then, Edmonton and Fort Mc murry is best.
Good thing is that try to surf good websites which are listed on Canadian desi .com and you will get better picture
If you have an Industrial Engr, Mechanical Engr, Production Engr, Quality Engr education and/or experience in the above fields such as Automotive engr, quality engr, supply chain management, etc,., Windsor and neighbouring areas may be for you.
Windsor and adjacent areas are concentrated primarily by auto suppliers and of course the big three (GM, Ford and Chrysler).
Other areas for automotive related careers would be Brampton, Guelph, Cambridge, Kitchener, St. Catherines, Alliston, Oakville and Hamilton - all of them in Ontario within an hour or two from Toronto.

I have seen a lot of Britishers moving from UK to CANADA, and most of them have been able to secure jobs in a month of reaching there, whether its Toronto or Thunders Bay. So definetly there are jobs available, and most of ss desis are able t o find soemthing in 8-12 months time.
I feel that is the time we take to adjust and learn from our mistakes that we might have made when we entered Canada at the first place in approaching employers or at interviews.
Those who don't make that mistake are usually able to find jobs before others, and then the reason Canadian employers ask for Canadain experience is basically the soft skills needed in cultural context.
Does anyone agree with my notion?
Northern Alberta ( Edmonton and north of it) has lots of Job in the Oil industry but the climate is extreme in Winter. It is -40 Degc plus there are very few desis.
Also in many of the oil industry jobs you will be working outdoors in the snow. So you have to be physically and mentally ready for this.

Mr. Agarwal,
I know what an IIT graduate is like.........
You are wasting your time looking for Job in Canada....For Higher education ...YES...but not for jobs...
Canadians dont know the difference between IIT & ITI.
Will you be happy if they consider your degree as the later one?????
Better be at a place where they know who you are and respect your skills and capabilities !!!!!!!!!!!!!! USA is the best answer..
