Looking for a bank or financial institution for savings account offering good interest rates currently and free withdrawal per month options here in Toronto.
Heard lot about ICICI , ING , PCfinancial but not sure about their service and options as to how good they are.
If you are internet sauvy, use all of them. None of them have monthly user fee. Take the best services offered by each of them.
for eg.
PC Financial- ATM machines available in most loblaws. Free cheque books. No monthly fee. Virtual bank. Low interest rates though...On line transactions , payments possible. Tele Banking also possible.
INK Bank- ATM card. Can be used in CIBC machines too. Good interest rates. Can link your checquing account. No fees. are around 24/7 but with reduced services.
ICICI-> Desi bank. Poor ATM network. Card can be used in Interac for some fee. High Interest rates. Can link 3 chequing accounts. HISAVE acct. offers free $20 on opening. Maybe some incentive while sending drafts to india.
NOTE: Pls. reas the fine prints for all the abobe banks. Things might have changed since i read the prospectus.

With my limited knowledge i can tell you that PC Financial offers the highest savings interest rates on savings account with 1 withdrawl per month of 4%.
If there is another bank with a higher interest rate please correct me

Perhaps TK forgot to mention that PC financial customers can use all CIBC ATMs as well and not just those limited to Loblaws locations.
Thanks for the inputs.
What about Manulife? They keep talking about single account for everything.
some manulife one account or something?
How about some of the credit unions offering good interest rates? Are they good?

But how is the customer service and ease of doing transactions without incurring fees with SBI?
Some banks would provide higher interest but would have a lot of restrictions with withdrawal/online transactions etc.
