Glad to know that you have learnt much in such a short time.
Are houses as cheap as $450 for a single bedroom in Vancouver. In toronto, where i stay, it is atleast $700-800 and 2 bedroom is around$900 +. So Vancouver seems to be a cheap place to live. I am sure that groceries in super markets will be the same as Toronto. Please try to go to Chinese stores. They sell the same vegetables/ fruits/ meat but very cheap. I do this in Toronto.

I think he is referring to a basement apartment and not a building apartment. Thats where they include everything.
