Definitely India is best in career/technology and money these days as compare to lot of western countries.

This weekend I have been to Whistler, BC. That drive is 6th best drive in world (1st in North America). The temp was 22’C, nice sunny day driving next to sea and snow on mountain. Then I thought the view I am seeing with my family and enjoying that time is priceless. If I am making comfortable money for living, paying bills, mortgage and few $ saving for bad time than life is fun.

Hello CD's
Contrary to my earlier previous post, i found that the Top Stock Analyst's (only one per co.) could earn between 60 lakhs to 1 crore a month in India as per this article.

Also in terms of REAL Savings (Real savings, to me is number of months I can survive without compromising my standards of living) they are better off.

Indian employees do not have Unemployment Insurance and Social welfare. No proper safety net exists for employees working overtime.

Some expenses are same in both Canada and India.

For the tax you pay out of your paycheque in India, the public services you get from the government is nothing when compared to Canada

Getting Visa to many countries is not easy with an Indian passport.

And top of the above mostly Indian managers are pain in ass. People stay at work till 9pm without work that after 7pm pizza will be free. Or to show manager their are working hard and get chance to go for US for 3-4 months. Otter people who are local there and having families got pressure to stay late also.

Internet is not like here at work. I heard that lot of people donot have internet as just developer level in India.

Dear Mercury

Rs. 63 Lakhs/year offer in India which is equivalent to $160, 000 Canadian Dollar offer, certainly a great offer.
Once I hear, but I am not sure Shri.K.V. Kamath, a CEO of ICICI annual salary in the range of 4 to 6.5 Lakhs, may be your friend is in the same level.
If you dot mind, what was your friend salary in Canada? I am not curious about his salary number but just to understand few things.
Thanks in advance.
Best Regards

Mag,

My friend was working as a independant consultant in Ottawa for $75/hr. He was a Infrastructure Manager at Bell before. I am not sure that you know that just few days ago there was a news item in The Times of India that a no experience MBA graduate managed to secure a salary of 1 crore ( whatever that is in cdn $$). The MBA's from IIM's and ISM usually secure 55-99 lakhs.
I had recruited an offshore resource having 5 years experience in IT earning 15 lakhs ( very normal). I am pretty sure CEO's of ICICI making a large salary.

BTW my friend emails me saying that he is not the top boss. There are many earning more then him.

Rahul123,

Same everywhere. I just returned from a assignment in NY in a very reputed company where the only site you can surf is their intranet. All wireless were jammed. No external devices can plug in their n/w. That is security and nothing to do with they do not have.

By the way having access to all the sites at work tells me that the company lacks security standards. They can be an easy targets for the hackers.
