Shani, Sade Sati or whatever is being discussed here, are all theories. These are things for superstitious people. I find it hard to believe that so many people still are in these kind of things. Their higher education did not have any effect on the rational thinking?! On one side, people are in high tech fields, emphasize research oriented and analytical thinking... on the other hand, looking forward to such baseless things!?

we;; Mr Senior Desi the response u have put in strongly worded to say the least. What authority u have to say that these things are baseless? First do some good reading.Its very easy to scoff at anything we dont understand. Remember Khushwant Singh scoffed at Gayatri Mantra and when the brahmins in Calcutta and UP made him meditate on it , he could see the proverbial light and admitted that really the Mantra works and works well.
Now u r trying to ask the question which Vivekananda asked everyone but the day u will meet Swami Paramhansa meant for u, u will realise whats what.

I see more anger than rationale in your post. We can always talk on the basis of sound reasoning. I emphasize “sound reasoning”.

The existence/survival of priestly classes etc (include astrologers) is due to their CONTROL on weak and superstitious people. If anyone disagrees, then tell me the real purpose of this!

Tuli ji, one question: There is one ‘Karma’ theory, as per which everyone’s destiny is already pre-decided as per past ‘lekhs’. Does astrology/mantra etc change those past karma? If yes, then it is equivalent to interfering in His Will. If not, then even Raja Janmeja who was told his life story by rishi, had to undergo his life/destiny. Got my point?

Also, I guess everyone here understands that, even a next breath will come to us or not, is something unsure of. A single next “second” is unpredictable. Or is it not?
