hi,
my case is being processed at CIC LA and I am currently in India. I would like to know how can I send the passports to CIC LA for visa stamping from here. Also will they send the passport back to me or insist on a US address.
thanks in advance
sansan
sending passports by mail/courier is a risky business these days ... very unpredictable. However, if you are sending to CIC LA, should not be a problem. Some people have been able to get away with it.
The other problem is if you give an Indian address, CIC may ask since when and u have to provide details. REMEMBER YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO ADVISE THEM OF ANY CHANGES AT ALL TIMES!!!
Worse scenario: file transferred to N/Delhi.

thanks for ur reply.
let me briefly tell you about my case. i applied at buffalo in 2001. i am working and living India. So there is no case of change in address. CIC has been corresponding with me at my Indian address. i even went to LA to attend my interview. but to travel again for getting my passport stamped is an expensive proposition. this is the reason i was trying to find out a way or sending the passports.
any advice will be greatly appreciated.
In that case, there won't be any problem. U'll simply have to send your passport by courier. No worries!

Hi sansan,
I know its a very old post but I am in this position right now. I need to send the passports to US from India and no courier company would let me do it. Its risky to do it through a friend travelling to US.
How did you get your stamped finally?
Thanks,
Poonam
