G’day to every one…

I have a question well several actually but I will address the most important on my priority list and any suggestions, guidance will be much appreciated. So thanks in advance to all.

The thing is I just got my work permit approval from HRDC for the duration of 2 yrs (from 2004-2006) and I also have a secure job waiting for me in Ontario as a Chef in a senior capacity with a local chain of restaurant, however that wasn’t part of my question lol.. Just a little info.. So my guess is I will be landing in Canada by mid Nov’2004 and one of my concern was related to ‘what sort of medical insurance provisions are there for people on work permit, i.e. covering overall health (consultancy with local GP), dental, vision, operation and prescribed drug rebates’.

I use to live in Australia before and we had something called Medi Bank ltd. which was a private medical insurance coverage similar to the government offered Medic Care which covered all of the above except dental and vision. The rebate was based on 50% of the actual bill inclusive Gst tax…

So is there any reputable company that offers all inclusive package (Dental, small claims i.e. consulting GP’s, Vision, Prescribed drugs and Operations) cos I had a terrible experience few years back whilst my stay in US and I ended up shelling out of my pocket cos the head office of the medical insurance coverage I had bought via my recruiting agent was in Holland.. So u can figure the run around I went through just to claim for something as simple as consulting a GP for a common cold.

as you are coming to Ontario you should be covered under OHIP
