I thank once agian to all senior desis, helping Desi commumnity in a deligent manner. I Hope to join ur team very soon. I need some info on PR validity etc.

1. I applied through an immigration agent in Aug 1999 at New Delhi, received interview in March 2004, medicals in June 2004. After submission of medical I have not heard any thing from CHC. Do u have any idea, how long does it take after medicals to get visa.

2. If i got through, I am planning to arrive in Toronto in May 2005 with family and two kids. I am planning to stay in Canada for 2 months and then come back to UAE to resume my work here.

3. Is it possible for me to just stay in Canada for 2 months and get PR card. After getting PR card, come back to UAE and work here for 3 more years. and then move to Canada again. Thus keeping PR valid. I heard that one has to stay in Canada for 2 years out of 5 years to maintain PR validity. Could some through light on this.

4. Can I prepare a list of my all belongings and submitt to Customs deptt. when i first time enter Canada but actually bring those item in Canada only after three years when i actually move there for good. Is it possible to do?

5. I am a Diploma Engineer of Instrumentation Control engauged in Oil & Gas industry for last 15 years. What is the job market? I shall be settling in Calgary

Answers to some of ur queries.
1) U should ideally get a request for ur passport within 3 months of ur medicals.

2)Should not be a problem. However the visas would be valid for one year from the date of ur medicals. ie. june 2005 so u have to user them before june 2005.

3)They say u can get the PR card with 2 months, however other things may take time eg OHIP etc. You can even give a mailing address (in canada) where u want the card to be sent by cic. However i've heard that they might ask u to collect the PR card yourself. (not sure about this though).

4)NOT SURE. Wait for posts from other members on this issue.

5)Try accessing your prospects thru canadian job boards eg. http://www.workpolis.com" rel="nofollow">LINK, http://www.jobpostcanada.com/ etc.
