Anyone has an experience of degree evaluation from WES.org?

I am looking for evaluation for Bachelor of Commerce degree from Gujarat University, India.

I visited following link and do not understand the requirement of "statement of mark sheet". I called them and they keep saying visit the same page for required documents.

I have original degree certificate as well as original mark sheets. I don't have any transcript from the college. Do they need anything from university/college in sealed cover? OR that paragraph applies to candidate who doesn't have university degree?

Any other way to get degree evaluation without transcript or involving college or university.

Important Information:

Before you send documents, you must complete an application and obtain a reference number.

You must include your WES reference number on all envelopes and correspondence.

WES is not responsible for documents that arrive without a reference number.

The institution that you studied at must provide the Mark Sheet directly to the WES by courier, if you want a fast response.

Full House, Thanks for response.

My concern is why institute provide mark sheets directly to WES in sealed cover while I already have original mark sheets with me. Before paying fees and start the process with WES, I want to confirm that they will be fine with the copy of mark sheets which I already have.

For me, talk to institute in India and get the duplicate copy of mark sheet is very time consuming and not sure how complicated it would be. (Degree was obtained in year 2000)

Any other way to get degree evaluation without transcript or involving college or university.

Apply at ICAS, Guelph. IIRC, they consider the original mark sheets that you have got as long as you submit them . While submitting personally , you can take the originals along with copies - they shall validate and return the originals to you.

try at ICAS....it is way much easier then WES. Recently done mine at ICAS and no issues at all.

As mentioned by Fido, they consider the original mark sheets and procedure is very straight forward and simple.

My wild guess is that in the initial stages WES did not have sufficient access to the data needed from the Indian end or got erroneous data of some one with an identical name and hence needed authentic data from the Institution that the OP studied.

Now others have better handle on this verification process and currently on top of all of these requirements and hence the ease of verification.

All of these are due to the numerous languages that the schools use in their teaching the subjects and the applicants were well educated, could not express the same here in the local language. There entered the Language tests to prove that you know the local language too.

There still looms the Canadian Experience sword that they dangle over your head and push you down a few steps in the ladder of life. It will take a few more years before everyone overcomes that.
