I was wondering if any of you folk could give me some pointers on getting Auto Insurance in Ontario. I just got my G License and was planning on purchasing an automobile. The quotes I have been given are quite unaffordable for me at this point. I wonder how new people can afford insurance when it costs more than the monthly car payment. Is there something I don't know? Is there anything I can do to get lesser rates perhaps? Do any of you own an automobile and know of a reasonable Insurance Company? Any assistance in this regard would be welcome

I would suggest you try RBC. I tried many others but found RBC to be the cheapest. Also, another thing would be to go for house insurance also, even if you are on rent.

It would get you some discount and that discount works out to be more than what you would be paying for the house insurance.
