hi massood ji,
my name is bhavesh (mumbai), iam planning to come to canada for doing my masters in 2005 on a student visa , i have some questions regarding the matter
1] after completion of the masters , how much time does the canadian gov. gives the student to find a job (i have heard that the gov. gives absolutely no time )
2] is it complusory for the student to find a job in his own feild ( what if a student is ready to do any kind of job )
3] when can i apply for a P.R (as soon as i reach in canada, can i file papers or can i file them after i get a job after my masters )
any help from you will be highly appreciated
You need (at least) 1 year of work experience. So to answeryour question, you wont be eligible for immediate consideration for PR status. Your best bet is to apply for Student visa and slog it out here.
Otherwise, get (at least) 1 year of work experience in India and then apply for a student Visa and then you can immediately apply for PR status in Canada

Well if you have a "job" here in Canada then you are guaranteed of immigration. ( rather your chances are very bright). You may even get your interview waived. BUt pls. do not apply through those "Agencies" that promise you many things... YOu can get all information from
http://www.cic.gc.ca
and search for Immigration/ Students
One more pt. You may have to secure funding in order to live here. How you secure that is your prerogative.
*ps :-
Job skills :- Computer analyst
Your job :- Tele-marketeer...
Result :- Not favourable !
So make sure what kind of job you apply for. But again, as other have pointed out on this forum, It is next to impossible to find "suitable" jobs in your field of work . You are better off finsing a job in India (Comp Sci rather than in Canada).
This is not meant to be a discouragement but it is the stark truth and you should be aware of your choices before you make that decision to come here. Of 'cos I have been accused of "preaching" but this is my opinion.. YOu can take it or leave it
Good luck with your endeavours
