How much experience do you have with CAD and 3D software? The field of 3D printing is changing the world very quickly and I see a good demand for it in the near future.

Essentially, you need to be good with CAD and 3D designing - picking up the intricacies of 3D printing will happen with experience, but the potential is enormous - depends on how much you wish to expand.

Any other views on this business which I know has huge profit margins but seemingly not a high capital investment?

Banks are also big businesses controlled by big companies & are obviously very lucrative?
So does it mean you can start a bank ? or compete against them ?

Money Mart & these other Big loan sharks, money lending services, pay day loan type of services are NOT any different. Pretty much playing in the same area. Heck they are even worse than banks & even tougher ruthless business than banks, as bank rejects come to them.

Its not some mom-pop organisation , cashing cheques - its a multi billion dollar business, only people with deep pockets can start something like this, not OP who is just a small time guy.

This is NOT a game for some small time guy who wants to start some home type of business.

Which CAD software is most useful for these purposes? I am quite proficient in AutoCAD, but during my designing heydays, I was mostly working on Mechanical 3D designs. I then switched over to IT. Looks like this is one area I can explore and undertake in my free time, and on the side for Construction and Civil designs/plans.

I know few friend who know Autodesk-Inventor/SolidWorks/& Autcad 2D & 3D - doing ordinary jobs.

That's true. There's no money in the 'Draughtsman' jobs here in NA, until you work in an already established consultancy with high end projects (oil/gas, Piping).

AT ever heard of "Paralysis from analysis" . EVERY SINGLE IDEA that has been thrown in CD , you discard it and well present negative side only .
If you have such great analytical skills why don't you write "whats good" for a change .

WE all talk a lot - but no action

You want to do something just jump on it - u might fail on first attempt but experience you get will get you next level

Agree with AT.
Hope you are aware that in India, a similar business compared to the above is highly lucrative.

It is called as Gold loans. Modulus operandi is the same. The company borrow from the bank at 9.75 % interest rate and loans it to you for 24% (Minimum). Then what about the secuirty. They keep your Gold as colateral. This is a scheme approved by the Govt. of India.. You all know how Indian's are crazy for Gold. Every woman is sent with a fixed amount of Gold ornaments to her husband's home.

Some use this scheme to develop their business and some on small scale business (like buyig vegetables in the morning and getting a profit in the evening and paying off the interest. Same can be applied to fish / chicken etc..).

Some use this scheme to mortgage gold (you get 70% of the value in cash). Drink or buy pot and allow the Gold to be taken over.

Just google and see. It is a multi crore business for many.

Unfortunately this is what is Pay day cheque in Canada as Canadians never consider Gold as a savings.
