Is it only me, or others here also think the Indian society (us immigrants included) have become way too intolerant in the last few years? We get offended with such an ease and label others that don't.

I remember, growing up was not like this. If you ask me, we used to crack jokes among our school and college friend groups (this included girls, and the people from diverse backgrounds/communities/religions), and no-one got offended. We always had a good laugh pulling each others out. If I think about taking those situations to the present times, I could simply see the groups breaking up or infighting.

Being from a particular and so-called 'jolly' community, I have had my shares of jokes inflicted upon me, but always had a great laugh and never got offended. Heck! I do crack those at times; and laugh at myself.

Times are truly changing.

Not sure what you trying to say - we Ordinary Indians are very tolerant...if that was not the case we never allowed fanatic muslims to create Pakiland and allow them again to multiply like rabbits and create situation for another Pakistan - not sure how long we will remain such tolerant - Virat Hindu's thinking of Un-do few things...mistakes from past can be fixed.

-reaction to vulgarity(on a forum where all kinds of members visit male/female) -is Not Intolerance
-self defence is not intolerance
-hanging mass murderer like Yakum memon is not intolerance
-protecting our Indian culture is not intolerance
- not allowing terrorist activities is not intolerance
- if you are vegetarian and refusing to eat or smell meat is not intolerance (which include refusing to rent your property to a meat eater or nonveg muslim)--this is self protection--not intolerance.
- If possible I prefer not to eat food with an animal eaters or in a restaurant where meat also cooked(yukky feeling) - this is my very basic fundamental right -- this is also not intolerance...

Adult jokes and even suggestive ones do not really gel with what CD was created for. Problem with adult jokes and sometimes even other jokes is where do we draw the line. How do you develop a marking scheme or grading for jokes to say this has crossed the line and this has not?

I will wait for what GG has to say in this.

I would ask members to please respect others' opinions and not indulge in personal attacks please.
