Sad part is that west always shows mostly bad things about India - instead they should be focussing on fixing their on issues - India is capable in dealing with issues exist in India

This is reply to BBC for making Video on Rape cases in other Countries when they are them self at the 5th place in World's Rape list,
When they made film on rape in UK, they named " I never said yes" but when they made film in India, they named " India's Daughter" as everybody in India is a rapist & teach us moral lesson. They clearly tried to Tarnish the image of India.....Harvinder singh

All the more reason that they should have made a real fast track trial and given capital punishment to those found guilty.

In Coimbatore Tamil Nadu, about 5 years back there was a similar gruesome act done by a school van driver and his accomplice. When the accused were caught, they were taken to the desolate spot where the crime took place for investigation. When the accused tried to flee, he was killed in an encounter. People of Coimbatore or Tamil Nadu did not complain. If a similar thing had happened in the Nirbhaya case neither the interview nor its telecast and unnecessary controversy would have happened.

I am unable to understand why the courts have to keep these animals in jail once the judgement to hang has been passed.

1) Is there any benefit in keeping these guys alive? That Kasab fellow was also alive for a long time.

2) Are they having any acute shortage of hangmen in India?

Good action on part of Mr. Harvinder singh in highlighting the rape cases in UK too. Last thing India needs is a lecture on human rights from the Colonial powers.

Indian justice is like Snail.....most of the time files are not moving from one table to other table or in hearing time in court....one of the person is not showing up..i.e. either witness, Judge, lawyer, opposite party lawyer, etc...

or phir wahi....Tarikh pe Tarikh....tarikh pe tarkih only......

Sad but true....(:

totally agree....major issue is the population & the ratio between number of cases being filed daily to number of courts & judges we have... And then add corruption to that with totally moronic & insidious lawyers, and you get a perfect recipe for disastrous judicial system

I just wished that they could judge the more precedential cases quickly. But I can understand that in India, if they even do that, some NGO or organisation would come & condemn the government to give importance to particular case due to more media coverage.

I even remember some NGO or organisation appealed to keep Kasab off the hang to support moral human rights....& to provide him a fair trial with 5-star facility in the jail to make him feel comfortable

India is getting screwed socially. On one side there is the medieval mindset, like that of the scumbag who gave BBC interview and on the other hand we have post-modern, neo-marxist creeps who are spreading like cancer in India.

These stats are according to Delhi Commission for Women and are highly watered down due to the nature of the the organisation. Reality is even worse.

http://www.dnaindia.com/india/report-53-rape-cases-filed-between-april-2013-and-july-2013-false-delhi-commission-of-women-2023334

In India, failing to carry out a promise to marry is considered rape according to courts, and it is anybody's guess as to how desis(here, women) (mis)use laws given the chance. And of course, most people are now aware of the infamous marital laws in India.

On the other hand, there is a massive-scale desensitization of crimes(violent or otherwise) in India carried out by media.

So, how about a police-state grid, with cameras everywhere as a solution to violent crimes? Just look down south(USA) for rape statistics--- 10 times more than India. Abortions are way off the the chart as well in US. In Canada, it is same level as India

So, are Canadian laws any better? Sorry, Canadaphiles, it is getting bat-sh1t crazy in Canada as well. According to Supreme Court of Canada, any wife who "feels" threatened, can now officially hire a hit-man to bump-off her husband. This is how pathetic laws are getting in Canada. Regarding, convictions for violent crimes in Canada, you will cringe when you actually see what goes on behind the stats.

In US there are cases where 40+ years old women had sex with 13-14 year old boys and had children. Instead of charging the women for statutory rape, they forced the boys to pay child support!!!!!

Should State have right to kill people (capital punishment), whatever be the reason? If all rapists should be hanged, then what about murderers, terrorists, child and women traffickers? Other heinous criminals? Where do you draw the line? Is there any evidence that capital punishment leads to reduction in crime?

Should police be allowed to go over the law and kill off criminals? Do you think they will stop with criminals and not misuse this power?

For one thing, India is a democracy and has to follow the processes within a democratic system. India is not a dictatorship or monarchy that they can kill off anybody they like, whatever be the justification.

Every crime and criminal has to be dealt as per law. If the system is poor, steps should be taken to improve it. Going overboard and engaging in encounter deaths for criminals is not the solution. If not, where will you draw the line and stop?
