Hello Everyone
I would really appreciate if someone can advise on best defence for ticket driving in HOV lane on Dundas street.
Also suggest if it will make sense to hire a Traffic ticket paralegal for this and if yes then recommend some good Traffic ticket Paralegal in missisauga with good track record pls.

Thanks Full House. What if the cop says that he saw you driving in this lane for very long. I guess it comes down to the proof he has against you.

You must have an idea about Cameras and Recording. There is an IN Dash Camera, High Definition one available at a shop called TechSource and it is located behind the ESSO Gas station at Dixie and Dundas. It costs about $39 or so. Get a dash moount and record a few of the streets first and familiarise yourself with the camera first.

Now Retrace the route you took on the day you got ticketed. Now you will have a video of the area that you travelled on that day. Most of the street signs are too small a sign and difficult to read. Some are bent and twisted and some faded so it is difficult to read. If you had a passenger in the front seat, you can always say that the person was helping you read the signs and pilot you to a lane nearby where you got ticketed for traveling in the HOV lane. If the signs are not legible and poor in quality, then explain to the judge with the video and a few colour prints, why you were traveling in that lane for a long distance. (Because you were searching for that street or the lane.)
Alternately mention that you had an Engine warning light and were looking for a suitable lane to exit to a service station.
Good luck.

If you were breaking the rules, pay the fine. If you were not, then give whatever your actual reason for using the lane was. You aren't better than everyone else on the road, you have to follow the same rules or face the consequences. It isn't advisable to lie in court and paying a paralegal would most likely be a waste of money. Sometimes they are harder on you.

In some areas, the overhead signs indicate that the curb lanes are for HOV Lanes during the rush hours, which is between 4-6 p.m. You could see the same signs on the road on the travelled section, also and on the lamp posts along the route too. All of these are posted to help commuters to make it a little faster to their links and to other destinations by helping the buses and trolleys travel and use the curb lanes. Please make a note of these traffic rules in your areas of travels. And on most of these routes, there will be NO PARKING closer to the curb lanes.
Having said this, the above help provided is to help you to see if the traffic court judge will provide you relief by letting you go scott free or help you soften the blow, if you are fined, with a smaller fine.
So, be guided by this.
