Hello there:

Parents application,

applied from GTA: 2007
transferred to India: 2010
applied from delhi: 2011
medicals completed: 2011
medical expired: dec 2012

since 2011, we have been submitting them various documents for proof of relationships etc.
for entire year of 2012, asking for police clearance again as it was expired, etc.

this week, the online status shows: Process started March 2013.

what does this mean??? when will we receive medicals or decision? This is exhausting!

Thank you for your assistance,
Bhavna

Bhavna ,

I have been researching on this yesterday and this is what I ve found .

Canadian Immigrant Visa will be issued for a valid medical & PCC which means that when the Visa is being issued , both should be valid . If not they would be asked for again.

Visa Issue and expiry are 2 different dates ... Visa may be issued in Jun 2012 but may expire on Apr 2013 .. A Visa or permit to enter ends with in one year of medicals .....So wheras dependence on PCC ends at the time of Visa issue , dependency on medical continues till expiry of Visa .

Now I have a q for you - when was your first PCC issued and when did it expire and when was the request for a new PCC sent by CIC ?? .. Thanks .

Good thing that I learnt was that a PCC can be acquired from a local Police Authority in stead of a Regional Passport Office .. Both are valid .
