people like this radio because there is no other option. There is nothing that really like. I dont thimk anybody is laughing at their comments except their loud backgroud laughs.

It depends which part of India you are from ?, chutney uncle character is that of punjab old villager who now resides in Canada Some comments will generate laughs only among few people who are well aware of culture and theth punjabi, some comments will generate laugh among even wider audience. Its baseless illogical rants of the character which is at times very very funny. Anybody applying mind while listening will sulk, roll eyes, look outside the window till songs are played !!

I dont see how their jokes are relevant to any culture.. Punjabi comedians are hilarous, Jaspal Bhatti comes to mind..
This Cina guy guy is a insult to comedians..

The background laughter is even more irritating when heard after a lousy joke.

com'on dude ! I agree few comedians are unmatchable, thats why person doing chutney uncle is only in Radio unlike JB who is everywhere.
This guy is funny at times bcs of his impromptu remarks in colloquial language, those are not regular jokes, those are as people say under the banyan tree. As I said it cannot be understood by all.
background laughter is annoying but somehow thats the proven trick to make show lively.

Talking abt Punjabi comedians, JB had his hay days , now a days comedy circus is filled with it, Kapil Sharma, Bharti, Thakur, Sudesh all are from Amritsar. But they are popular bcs they do it in national language, there are other lesser know punjabi comedians who are doing well. similarily so many marathi stage actors who are good but are not known to all bcs they do comedy only in the local language.
