Hi Pranav411,

Can you please advise what you ended up doing for Supervisa insurance proof. I did apply and get multiple entry visitor visa for my parents last month, but the stupid thing is that as my dad's passport was expiring in 14 months, they gave him visa only till then. I was not expecting this as he did get his US visitor visa for 10 years which was past the passport validity.
For my mom who had a longer passport validity, they gave the visa till then.

So for next time, I intend to apply a Supervisa for both of them, hence wanted to check how did you get by the insurance proof requirement.

For information on insurance options for super visa applications, the best place to start is on a comparable travel insurance site. Using a broker that only uses three or four (or less) companies means that he/she is limited in their recommendations, which can cost $100's extra in how much you'll pay for the insurance.

The widest selection of policies that meet the super visa application requirements can be found at BestQuote Travel Insurance Agency : http://www.bestquotetravelinsurance.ca/parent-and-grandparent-super-visa-health-insurance

BestQuote provides free instant online insurance quotes, and have a toll-free number (1-888-888-0510) to call with any questions about policy options, pre-existing medical conditions, refund policies, etc.

You can also see a basic overview of prices here: http://www.bestquotetravelinsurance.ca/super-visa-insurance-bestquote-rates

When making your purchase decision, consider the following reasons for using BestQuote Travel Insurance Agency:
• By industry regulation, BestQuote rates are the same as those offered by the insurance companies, and they do not charge any extra fees for quoting or purchasing a policy from the website;
• As your broker, BestQuote works on your behalf, not the insurance companies’. BestQuote provides an extra level of service to customers by assuring fast online delivery of documents for the super visa application, helping change the dates on your insurance if travel dates change, and helping with refunds or claims issues;
• BestQuote is a highly productive broker that earns business by maintaining our website and quote engine for you, offering more policy choices online than any other broker in Canada! At the time of claim or refund, BestQuote is there to assist you in dealing with the insurance company you have chosen – you won’t be left alone as if you bought the policy directly with the company.
• BestQuote's website technology is often more secure than the insurance company websites! They use the same recent encryption software as most insurance companies do, and our servers are Payment Card Industry (PCI) compliant, when some insurance companies/other brokers use older technology, and aren’t even PCI compliant! BestQuote adopted the technology and programmed their website after 2010, whereas some insurance companies still use technology from before 2000!

I also have all the answers, because my father applied for super visa last month and got it. Points are -
1. Contrary to claim of 10 years visa valadity, they gave for 2 1/2 years.( must clarify that it is not visitor visa- old type, it is a super visa )
2. Insurance was taken from manullife, since my father had no plan to come in the next 5 months, so i got it cancelled and got full refund in 7 days time.
3. Paid $2850, covered all pre existing, deduction $500. My father is 70 + years old.

What I dont like-
Ordinary visitor visa can be upto 5 years and no obligation of insurance and medicals expense and applying for supervisa and getting for just 2 1/2 years is waste of time and money. Before this visa my father had visitor visa (multi entry ) for 3 years and it expired and i mistook that super visa is good option.

Seems like your father's passport is expiring in 2.5 yrs time. supervisa for 10 yrs falls flat under so many other added frills like passport expiry, medical conditions, dates stamped on arrival at airport may not be 2 yrs at stretch, it depends on officer's mood and data (medicals, past visits) available in system, insurance company's policies. Its a rip-off for sure.

I got visa stamped for my parents last week.
After lot of self study and gazing the advantages/disadvantages of all visas and personal needs as well as counting in advance payment of insurance which was almost 5k CADs, I shelved idea of supervisa and went for multiple entry visa which they got for 4.5 yrs i.e, till end of 2016 bcs passport is expiring in oct 2016.. They will spend summer time with me. I am sure they will like here for some time only and after that would like to go back to their life of 65 years, friends, family functions, festivals, to my 2 siblings and grandchildren back home.

supervisa makes sense in following cases (purely my view) :
- for pre/post pregnancy care of Ds / DILS
- you are the only child, No body to take care of parents back home. take 0 deduction insurance then.
- parents are waiting for the PR application to come through.
- and for super rich people (for them in any case everything makes sense)
