I have applied for my parents PR in Sep, 2008. I received acknowledgement in Oct/Nov 2008 (at my current address). I have not received request from CIC (or any other documentation in last three years) for updated documents as many people have received in last two months.

I tried to check status of application many times (using various identification number) online in last three years but was never able to access it (I never received any file number). Yesterday, I tried to login again using the fee receipt number and was surprised to see that my mailing address CIC has is my old address (which I had used at the time of my landing).

I called today CIC and they said somehow they never changed my mailing address (my current address was correct). I never mentioned anywhere my old address (except in case if they have asked for old address) in the parental sponsorship application. I have received acknowledgement at my current address only.

I asked the representative if they sent me any document in last three years they must be lost. She said if any document came back to them they will send it again after she will update the address (another issue that after calling and correcting my address online status still shows my old mailing address but I am hoping that it may be updated tomorrow).

I am not convinced as many people do not return mails and just throw in the garbage. She told me that she can't do anything and only Mississauga office can do anything.

Now, what are my options (I did send a fax today to Mississauga office just now)? I am worried that if they do not receive updated documentation from me (I am assuming that they did send the document and now they are lost) within 90 days then they will cancel my application. Any guidance appreciated.

Anybody has any other suggestion. I sent a mail also whch was received by CIC early last week but no answer/reply.

Ash20 dont worry i m in same situation....actually i am a april 2008 applicant..did not recieve any documents so far..never changed address....its good that you sent them letter....i di too like in first week of january..cic doesnt show anything so far..stay in touch take care

Ash20 Ok i called cic call centre today agent asked me my d.o.b address,full name, time of application which is april 2008.She said "ok i will send message to missisauga where they process files that you never recieved any documents and she said wait for 2-4 weeks you will recieve these documents" Now i m just waiting i suggest you do the same. and if we tell them that we never recieved these forms then they wont count 90 day period

Thanks Pompaa. I will call tomorrow (it is very difficult to get to the call centre agent). I did call them 2-3 weeks ago and they didn't told me any such thing and told no document was sent to me. It seems to me that they don't have much information. Anyhow will try again.
