We filed our case under fast track in august and received our file number this month. I wanted to know what will be the next step after this.

Now that you have got the file number it means that they Immigration department has received you application and they are looking into it. After this they will send you the a communication if you have cleared the first round of assessement or not. If you do, then they will send you a postal communication with a kit which will contain some forms. Do check the forms and the seals on it. If there is any stamp missing then contact the department asap. These documents will be for you medicals and some other formalities. Once you are done with submission of these documents then wait patiently till you hear the final verdict from them. In all likelyness its deemed that if you receive a medical kit then you are almost through however hold your horses till you get the verdit in your hands. You will get a reply with your passports stamped with the immigration visa for all applicants mostly valid for 1 year and for single entry. You need to visit Canada to activate your PR with all the documents sent to you.
