Hello All
My mom and dad are in USA ..They are Green Card holder.
If i want to sponsor them for Canadian PR how long it will take..i couldn't find any info on CIC website.
They came to USA last month on immigration and got GC...they will go back india after 2 months...They may or may not come back..But if i plan to sponsor them for canadian PR then they can come...
I would appreciate all and any inputs..

They being GC holders has no bearing on time line. However, if they live in the US as GC holders, then they may be able to process PR through Buffalo. If not, they'll have to go through New Delhi. Based on that, processing timelines would vary. Delhi apparently takes 4 to 7 years for family immigration.

The first stage of application, which is the sponsorship approval phase takes over three years, although this timeline is increasing every month and by the time, your turn comes up, it may be as long as 5 years. the second stage involves sending documents to the high commission of the country where the parents are resident.The current timeline in New Dehi is 2-3 years whereas in Buffalo, its 1.5 - 2 years. Again, these timelines will go up by the time your application passes the first stage. So you are looking at a good 7-8 years for parental sponsorships, if you apply now.

But if they stay in USA and process from Buffalo, how long would it take approximately ? Any ideas....

As freakoutguy stated, currently it is 1.5 to 2 yrs after the first stage.
