I have completed my post graduate diploma without internship(8 month).and I got post graduate work permit which is valid for 8 month.but all my classmates got the work permit for 1 year duration.i want to increase my duration to 1 year.what can i do ?i completed my studies in project management without internship(8 months).we all class mates completed studies without internship.

When you filled your work permit application form, there is a question asking you "Extend my stay in Canada untill (date)". You should have put 1 year later date to increase your chances of getting 1 year work permit.

It depends on the visa officer who processed your your work permit application. The CIC rule says you will get 8 months work permit if you studied for 8 months, however, your classmates got lucky to get 1 year work permit.

Now, if u still want to try to extend for another 4 months, it will cost you full applicatin fees once again.

Jigz787 Rightly said. You have to put the dates carefully ...... Most of the times agents who process the application type the dates put on the application and... do not think much ...

Anyway:

1. To extend for 4 months, you need to pay $150 again
2. It is difficult to extend buit not impossible.
3. It is not necessary to extend your permit to show one year experience for PR purpose ( if that is the reason you want to add up 4 more months)
