How much to construct a basement?

Hi

What is the cost of constructing a basement with 3 pc washroom and a small kitchen space? The house is a semi-detatched, and the approximate area of the basement is 648 Sqft.
I am not planning for hi-premium fittings, but something that is decent and looks good and enhances the value of the house.

How much should I budget for approximately?

Thanks

Happy New Year to All!!!!

The kitchen is likely to be the most expensive, followed by the bathroom.
Do you have rough-ins already?
Are you planning to do some of the work yourself or outsource entirely?

There are many factors so it is hard to give an accurate range.
I'd plan for something between $15K on the lower end to about $23K on the higher end.

Our basement is about the same size (unfinished), we like to finish it with two rooms (one as an office and the other to accommodate guests).
No need for kitchen, washrooms.

To finish the area of roughly 650 SQFT, I am budgetting 12K... would that be right.

Yeah, without kitchen and bathroom, 12K should be enough.
Your biggest cost is likely to be labor, and not materials, in this case.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I will plan to keep about 10% buffer.

There's rough-in for washroom, for kitchen we have not yet decided whether to have it or not, maybe we will keep a small dining space with connection for a microwave.
I plan to do as much as I can myself, although I have no prior experience, but lots of interest in how these kind of things work.

Any good contractors that that are available????

If you have no prior experience, then I suggest hire a licensed contractor for the more critical tasks such as plumbing, electricals, framing, etc.
You can do the easier things like drywalling, sanding, painting, etc.
