Former U.S. president George W. Bush has provided anecdotal evidence of Stephen Harper’s naughty wit in his memoir, Decision Points, which is being released on Tuesday.
Mr. Bush writes about introducing his Scottish terrier, Barney, to Russian leader Vladimir Putin on a visit to the U.S. presidential retreat, Camp David. When Bush visited Russia, Mr. Putin gave him a tour of his dacha and a big, black Labrador came charging across the lawn.
“With a twinkle in his eye, Vladimir said, ‘Bigger, stronger, faster than Barney,’ ” Mr. Bush writes.
The former president says he told this story to Mr. Harper.
He replied: “You’re lucky he only showed you his dog.”
