needs urgent advice on Passport expire and tomorrow Citizenship date...

Hi all CD's.

Tomorrow 21st Octo. 2010 me and my wife have a Citizenship test date and when yesterday i checked the passport date and found my wife's passport expired on 19th Octo 2010. In citizenship notice says needs a valid passport,.

Its our fault that we didn't check ......

now what is our options....

Do we have to apply for new passport and wait for another 8 to 9 months for next date for citizenship or we can go with expire passport date on exam?

are they allow her to go to give exam or not?

I checked the CGI website and it says in emergency passport service will take alteast 3 days or regular service will take 4 to 6 weeks.

Your expert advice help us a lot......

Go for the test. I do not think that it will be a big issue and it is foreign passport and when you applied for citizenship it was valid. If asked then tell them that I have already applied for canadian citizenship and looking forward to that. I would wait to apply for canadian passport rather then to renew it as you do have no intention to travel in next six months.

little bit relaxed now after your reply, atleast we have a hope to give exam, we thought they are not going to allow her to give exam, as they mentioned in letter they needs a valid passport and give a note in highlighed words that if we are fail to provide any of one thing above mentioned than you are not allowed to give exam.

I had a test last week on Oct 12 and I wasn't asked for passport, but was asked to give 2 ID's with my PR card and proof of landing.

may be you'll get lucky too.

What happened with exam? How was the questions?
