Hello CD's,

There is a 3 night, 4 days of camping trip planned by Toronto Outdoor adventures club for the Long weekend of July 1st. I have signed up for this trip. For more details, please see:
http://www.meetup.com/Toronto-Group-Camping-Adventures/calendar/13551495/

P.S: Please plan only if you are into outdoor activities and enjoy outdoors. Expect some physical intensivness and basic camp living. This event is open only for grownups. There is a seperate event for parents with children.

Hope to meet some of you at the event.:)

Hi AjaxDesi,

Just wondering if there is such an event this year?

I am new in Toronto and love to go camping with my family but don't know that many people here. Are there any desi groups that go camping in summer?

Thanks.

Hi Musicgold,

I appreciate your enthusiasm. which part of Toronto are you staying?

There are many desi groups and support organizations in Toronto. You have to find the right one which meets your needs.
Below is the list of some desi meet-up groups. Join all of them(it's free!), attend them and get an idea of what works for you.

Ajaxdesi, Thanks for the link. Most of the meetups in the link are either for singles or couples with children. We are couple with no kids yet. Still exploring if any of those meetups match us.

One of the group in the link is going for camping. But they are going for a resort. We are looking for a bit rough and wild one than a traditional resort camping. Some thing like a provincial park. Did you camp at Algonquin before?

It's good to note that CD's are finally taking interest in outdoor activities.

1) There are meet-ups which do outdoor camping. Check for a meet-up near your city.
The link is: http://camping.meetup.com/cities/ca/on/toronto/

2) Toronto Outdoor club regularly organizes camping and outdoor trips.

3) There are some private organizations which take you into the middle of Algonquin for a 3 or 4 days camping trips. I am going on one such trip for the July long weekend. They are slightly expensive though.
Check out this link and see if they have any spots for the July long weekend trips.
