You are right, there are no updates on CGI website yet.
About the rediffmail forum, it's that kind of misconception of affordability that still lures people to other countries. Even today, some of my relatives feel that I am sitting on a pot of gold earning $ by conveniently forgeting my bills have to be paid in $ as well

Well, every country imposes fee and such, but then there are absurdities in those fees. Creating a law to surrender the passport is one thing, but creating another document requirement and charging an absurd amount is another. How about $20 for the so called sham certificate of surrender? That would have been reasonable, although still a money grab.
