Hello,
I am looking for help on the process of getting a GC after getting an L1A.
1. How long does it take. since you have a L1A you don't have to get a labor certification,it should be must faster. In the EB1 category it would much faster - I saw some people got it in less than a Year.
2. How much is the cost to Apply the fee for the visa - not the lawyers fee.
3. Once you get the GC is there a limitation that you need to stick with the company for certain years since it was an Inter-Transfer. I have not see anything like that and show not be the case becuase even with the H1 you are hired under one and can move to another once you get the GC.
4. Does it matter where you apply from in this case - whether you are in a small or a big city. I know it matters in EB2 / EB3.
Hope their is someone who has gone through this process and help me with questions.

-- The time saved in LC (or PERM) is not very significant. The significant time saving will be there ONLY if your case falls in EB1 category.

-- Normally the expenses are paid by your employer. The cost I believe is around US$ 10K.

-- No limitation, but it is not advisable to change your job the very next day after getting a GC - that could trigger inquiry or problems afterwards. (That's what I have heard and sounds logical to me).

-- No, the place does not matter even for EB2 and EB3.

You said cost would be 10K - I am assuming this would be including the lawyer fee.
Correct? If Yes any idea how much is it without the Lawyer fee.
Yes, I told you the approximate $$ inclusive of everything and it is different for the different law firm. The cost (the filing fee) otherwise is different (and cheap as compared to the lawyer fee) for different stage of the GC processing. I do not know the break-up though.
