Hello All,

My application for Canadian PR has been approved under AINP program. I, along with my family, have received Immigrant visa stamped on my passport. We will landing soon in Calgary. Since, neither we have any friends in Alberta nor do we have any address at the time of arrival to provide for PR card, I wanted to know which of the following options is acceptable:

A. Provide address of my friend living in Ontario to receive our PR cards and SIN documents, OR
B. Provide postal address with Canadian PO box address to receive my PR cards.

I am sure most of us have been through this hurdle. Please advise which of the options above is acceptable or offer some other option. I would appreciate for any guidance from senior CDs. Please PM me if there is any reluctance to post reply in this open forum for personal reasons.

Thanks,

Tapak

Provide your friend's address in Ontario.
As a PR you are free to land anywhere (except the province of Quebec initially) and live anywhere.
It's better to provide an address where you know mail will not be lost and your friend will let you know as soon as the cards arrive.
Welcome to Canada.

Tapak,

I guess, you are landing & going to stay in Calgary

At which place you are going to stay initially ?
If its rental apartment or house, use that postal address

If in hotel for few days, at the time of landing use hotel address & after shifting
rental or own house, just update Canada Immigration

hope it helps !

I will be staying in hotel for few days and then head back to US. Since my children are in middle of their state tests, I am planning to return in summer after their academic year is over.

Hi Tapak,

I am going to land in Albrta under the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (or AINP).

I don't have any friend/family in Albrta. Can I give address of Toronto ?

What was your experience ?

Please share with me.

Thanks,
Gaurav
