Howdy,
would appreciate if anybody could help me out with a snag I am experiencing in setting up my Dell computer to get a signal from my Netgear router.
The main computer from where I am typing is OK. Internet connection is OK, however the remote computer which has a USB port wireless adapter is unable to connect to the internet.
tech support of both Dell and Netgear(worst tech support of any company I have ever dealt with) are both unable to help.
Maybe CDs can.
Thanks
I have tried a USB port wireless adapter before. Just was a bad experience with dropped connections all the time. Could just be your adapter. Did this start suddenly or is this your first attempt?
The "computer" that you refer to that has the USB adapter...I am assuming is a PC with no wireless card? Maybe get a good wireless card...
By the way, make sure your wireless router is not is a very busy area. The new ones are better with their signal strength but my old Dlink needs a lot of breathing room...

There should be other wireless networks in your vicinity which your adapter should detect - check for 'view wireless connections' from the remote computer - if other networks are detected then the router is not configured properly - reconfigure .
If none wireless connections are detected ... chances are that the wireless adapter is faulty . Replace .

Try Uninstalling the driver for the adaptor and then reinstall it.
