Hi there,
I am looking to sponsor my 16 yr older who currently resides with my ex wife in Texas, USA. I am a permanent resident in Canada. I do extensive research on cic.gc.ca and i think i have all the documents that i need to start the process. I am just looking for someone who has recently sponsored child from outside canada who can help me go thru the documentation as i want to make sure i dont have any errors in the documents i am about to submit to immigration as that will only delay the processing.
If you have a recent experience in filing in this class i would appreciate your assistance.

Since the child, who is a dependent, is moving away from its Mother's care to Father's, and will be moving across the borders, it will be a requirement that you have a legal document indicating the rights and its custody in your favour. And you might have to carry such a document on each occasion, when you cross, to avoid any delays and hold ups. It is a custodial matter and a border crossing requirement.
Most of the cases that we hear here are of those with family unification. Yours appears to be otherwise. It is not of importance to us, but it will be to your advantage, if the child's custody and visitation rights, and other issues be resolved, legally, with your EX, prior to your applying for its sponsorship. You also might have taken care of it, and since it is not apparent to us here, I am adding this statement to the response.
Also there are Immigration Help Centers who will provide you good and able services and if you so wish to avail them, please call upon them after you find the closest one to where you live. They will help you in verification of all of the documentation and with any other issues associated with this, if any. All they ask of you is to drop in and visit them personally first.
