i am here canada to live wid my husband n he is sponsoring me n i m pregnant nw..... n hav no health insurance ... m frm the United States....the health expenses here r very expensive n i was wondering if thr is ne organization or nethin tht helps such ppl.
i dont knw wat 2 do as i m really worried n tense... plz help me out!

OHIP should kick in after 3 months (I assume you are in legal status).
So if you are due after that point, then OHIP will cover your hospital stay and services.
In the meantime, you will need to pay for Dr. fees for regular check up, ultra-sounds etc.
If you are from the US, you will find health care costs here are very much cheaper compared to the US, even without OHIP insurance.
Have you checked with your US insurance if they will cover you in Canada?
Maybe you can pay for expenses now and they might re-imburse later?
Is that a possibility?
Typical dr. visit will cost between $30 - $50 per visit.
Specialists will cost more, if you need one.
Probably $100 range.
Ultrasounds will cost under $100, but you will probably have only 1 before OHIP kicks in.
You will have to pay for any medication, if you need any.
Ask your dr. to prescribe generics as far as possible and it will be a lot cheaper.

ashina in this condition you should not be worry and tense as u r pregnant and that will reflect to ur baby - just keep cool and i know u r in a very difficult situation. hope some more desis will send their input about this type of situation.
my husband is goin to sponsor me n i will 1st get the PR card then after 3 months the OHIP..... this is goin to take almost a yr..... until then wat shud be done.....
what is the present status of your husband and yours. pls advice so we can figure something.
my husband has a PR n health card as well by next week we will submit our sponsorship papers i m here as a visitor....
