Hi friends,
My daughter(canadian citizen) got engaged in India on her visit there, are there any legal obligation on her part to inform the relevant authorities here?
What is advisable in terms of leaving her the option of retaining her citizenship after her marriage (expected after 1 year) in India?
Please share your views, experiences.

Here is a link to the requirements. Also call the CIC call Center in Mississauga and get complete details prior to departure and comply with them.
A Canadian Citizen can stay there in India for an initial period of Six months. Then they have to report to the Police at specific intervals. To overcome this you can apply and obtain an OCI card and get admission for an indefinite period.Thus, she retains her Canadian Citizenship.
