Hello,

I am looking to get a General Power of Attorney made for sale of my property back in India so that my wife can goto india to sell the property.

Does anyone has any experience in this? or any contacts of notaries who could help me prepare a GPA that would work for India.

I also might need a Will made..

any help on this topic will be much appreciated.

What you should execute is a Special Power of Attroney. Get the format of the SPA from your real estate agent in India (so that s/he can't complain about the format at a later date).

Take 2 copies of the text printed to the Indian consulate (alongwith your photograph, passport, PR card etc) and have them attest the document. This document then is acceptable in ALL Indian courts/Sub registrar's office. Just recheck the website of the Indian consulate to make sure what their latest requirments are.
