Hi Experts,
I have applied for Canada immigration from USA(Buffalo) Office. I am on H1B visa in USA. My application for Canada immigration is still under process. I am expecting some decision on my GC application at the end of 2004. Now I am planing to move to India untill I get my Canada GC. Is it possible to do that.
Is it OK If I give my India address as the change of address at buffalo office.
All your comments and suggestions are welcome and will be very helpful.
In case buffalo office decided to shift ur case to new delhi , u will get new file number. That implies fresh start. I have seen this happen in so mnay cases. Just see if u can stick around san jose or in US for another Year.
Delhi waiting time is more than 4 years now..

I applied from Buffalo too and went back to india and wa interviewed in Detroit and now a landed immigrant since two years
Mohan jit is name of my close cousion. He too lives in Brampton . But i guess u are anther one as he is their for last 10-12 years..

Infocan is right that you should try and stay in the US until your case is completed.
Following are some of the reasons I can think of:
1. If you are called for an interview, the interview will be held in the US and not in India.
You need to have US visa for that, and you cannot use your H-1B visa to attend Canadian PR interview.
If US consulate denies you visa then you will not be able to attend interview.
2. I have heard that Buffalo RPC rarely transfers cases now-a-days.
This used to be common a couple years back but they are becoming more and more strict in not transferring cases.
3. Once your case is approved, if you are in India, how will you send your passport for visa stamping to Buffalo?
Also, I am not sure, but I think Buffalo will not send your passport back to India either.
If you do decide to move, it will be better if you can keep your mailing address in the US.
